WP Summary

  • Continued internal support from WP leader to partners for technology and procedures adoption resulting a number of results (#2236, #1884)
  • Enhanced architecture of VRE #1 of the WP by further separating components/layers and utilizing infrastructure services.
  • Conducted a number of meetings (teleconferences and physical meetings) for identifying solutions to technological, scientific and organizational challenges, discussing topics such as status update, economic/financial aspects of aquaculture performance, exploiting ICRE8 models on social / environmental impact, MOU/contracts and Apache Spark employment challenges, further data needs, s/w integration and build etc ([WP620160419Meeting], [WP620160422Telco], [WP620160422Meeting]). A number of concrete outcomes and actions are results of the activity:

    • Additional data needed are needed and a number of alternative means for acquiring those have been evaluated (questionnaires, data inputs, price lists, statistics etc).
    • Technological integration solution (all benchmarking models will be Java-based so as to be reusable/portable from VRE to VRE)
    • VRE#1 "Global model" will cluster models by "quality" rather than the simpler initial "location" clusters. Several challenges are raised for clustering, to be resolved in the progress of the project. Initial models will refuse benchmarking in clusters where only one production model exists.
    • Essential aspects of economic models will be considered in evaluation rather than peripheral to aquaculture elements (e.g. feeding is the major cost element, while most infrastructure elements have limited impact in benchmarking).
  • Motivated and structured the creation of an MOU with ICRE8 and defined the concrete areas of collaboration (#3918).

  • Progressed in the signing of contracts with individual subcontractors, as planned by the DOA .

  • Progressed in the development of KPIs algoritms for benchmarking performance (Feed Conversion Rate ). The FCR has been published into Statistical Manager (#3889)

  • Progressed with the definition of the Techno-economic evaluation algorithm (#3485)

  • Progressed in the implementation of VRE#2 generic and VRE-specific tooling (#1993,#1994,#1995)

Progress of Work

UOA

  • Provided support for technology adoption
  • Contributed in architecture enhancement for the technology of the task.
  • Led a number of meetings (teleconferences and physical meetings).
  • Led the creation and authoring of an MoU among WP actors and ICRE8, defining the contribution areas from each side.
  • Contributed in enumerating and evaluating additional data and methods to collect those for supplying the economic evaluation aspect of aquaculture performance.

I2S

  • Development of KPI algorithm [Project Activity #3889]
  • Compute the FCR Table
    • Import the algorithm into SAI
    • Publish to Statistical Manager
  • Sign contracts with subcontractors
  • Meetings with CITE & UOA
  • Setup gCube portal v4.0
    • Deploy the portlets [Project Activity #1884]
    • Launch integration with the Statistical Manager [Project Activities #1884, #2236]
  • Launch the employment infrastructure facilities such as Postgres [Project Activities #1884]
  • Start utilization the developer integration facilities (maven repository, subversion, etics) [Project Activities #2236]

Progress of work

UOA

  • Led Meeting with CITE and I2S on status update, economic/financial aspects of aquaculture performance, exploiting ICRE8 models on social / environmental impact, MOU/contracts and Apache Spark issues. Major meeting outcomes are:

  • Led Teleconference with I2S on technoeconomic evaluation of aquaculture investment/operation and options to acquire financial data from stakeholders.

  • Led Meeting with I2S on project build and integration tools.

  • Progressed in GAAP analytics layer implementation - configuration fixes and partial implementation management business logic [#2001]

  • Progressed in implementation of GAAP Analytics Layer data access model [#1999]

CITE

  • Hosted the major WP meeting of the period Meeting with UOA and I2S.
  • Launched migration of GAAP platform from OpenLayers 2 to OpenLayers 3 (#1995)
  • Progressed on the implementation of geospatial cluster management logic (part of the High performance back-end data access implementation): Implemented first prototype of Geospatial Operations Service, node registration and event handling through Zookeeper and Logical Layer Broker Implementation. First steps in implementing logic of Logical Layer Manager (#1993), (#1994)
  • Progressed with the implementation of technoeconomic evaluation model (#3485).

I2S

  • Participated and contributed to a number of meetings and teleconferences:
    • Meeting with UOA and CITE on various WP topics.
    • Teleconference with UOA on technoeconomic evaluation.
    • Meeting with UOA on project build and integration tools.
