Description

From #8831

"About the third point, I think we could easily provide an optional filter : I imagine something like a radio button that could activate the same interaction performed by ckan in order to have this VRE view on metadata. If you agree, please create needed ticket(s) and link it to this one."

New facility "Search for VRE Context" has been added in order to retrieve only layers of VRE.
It appears as a check-box and selecting it is possible to restrict the search for title only to layers stored in the VRE where GeoeExplorer is running.

@fabio.sinibaldi@isti.cnr.it you can try it here:

Let me know if it sounds for you

I made a quick look at the proposed solution.

Two comments:

  • VRE context does not explain what it means. I would write 'Restrict view to VRE products only'

  • testing it I see that there are 14197 products without restrictions (number taken by using the refresh button on the button of the page). Then I activated the flag and re-used the refresh button. I was expecting to see only the VRE products and instead I got 14197 products. Either all the available products in dev are produced in this VRE or it does not work.

@pasquale.pagano@isti.cnr.it , you're right. I tried several labels for the checkbox similar to 'Restrict view to VRE products only' and were too long so I restricted the label at 'VRE Context' with tooltip 'Select this if you want to restrict the search for title only to layers stored in this VRE'. However, actually "VRE context" does not explain properly meaning so I'm going to change the label as you want 'Restrict view to VRE products only' to the detriment of GUI.

The refresh button is a "trick" to load all layers :-).. and at the moment does not consider the value true/false of the flag. It's a bug. I'm going to fix it

  • % Done changed from 90 to 100

I just deployed on dev a new version fixing above issues. It is testable at https://dev4.d4science.org/group/nextnext/geoexplorer

I changed the following behaviors:
* by clicking on the refresh button: it performs "simply" latest query again (including the title searched and value of check-box selected ('Restrict view to VRE products only');
* in order to 'Restrict view to VRE products only': it is possible to select the related check-box and perform the search by clicking on "Search Button" ('The magnifying glass').

Let me know if now it works fine for you.

it works now.

I would also add another action if possible.

  • I perform a search without the restriction and i get the results
  • then i click the checkbox but nothing change if i do not click again the button to perform the search.

I would make this button active and so if i perform the search and then click the restrict to VRE only, the search is automatically fired again ...

What do you think?

I added the action that you suggested. The button "Restrict view to.. " now is active.
