Description

The Enabling field in Release tracker was introduced the past release with possible values Yes/No. Now we changed approach and this field should be updated. It should be renamed in "Type" and values allowed should be "Enabling", "Common Apps" and "Community Apps".

@roberto.cirillo@isti.cnr.it, do you think it is useful to have reports in Redmine based on this field for deployment purposes?
If no, we could even think to remove it completely. In fact, the information "type of a component" is known, static, and it will also imported in ETICS to allow filtering of history of ETICS changes. Repeating this information also here in release tickets is an considerable overhead for developers.

History

I think it could be useful if the field is mandatory.

  • Category set to Other

#3 Updated by Luca Frosini over 2 years ago

I removed the old field "Enabling".
I added the new field "Type" as mandatory. Please note that if you want to modify the already existing tickets you have to set a value.

@gabriele.giammatteo@eng.it or @mariaantonietta.digirolamo@eng.it can you do it for already created tickets?

@gabriele.giammatteo@eng.it or @mariaantonietta.digirolamo@eng.it can you do it for already created tickets?
Yes , I can do it.

#6 Updated by Gabriele Giammatteo over 2 years ago

it is ok. My only concern is that for subsystem we are forced to put one of the three choices. What if we add an additional choice "Subsystem" or "n/a"? I would prefer the former, because the latter could be used erroneously for components also

#7 Updated by Luca Frosini over 2 years ago

I agree that we need another option. I suggest something like "Grouping" which can fit also for release master ticket. Please confirm it

#8 Updated by Gabriele Giammatteo over 2 years ago

it is fine with me "Grouping"
