I have tried to test this portlet.
1) In the first step I got an error with a non clear message, thus I don't know if this user already exists or if something else went wrong
2) In general it is not clear to me what this portlet is about. Since it is deployed per VRE it is supposed to act on a per VRE basis. If I create a user which already exists on the portal as a whole but I'm doing this through a specific VRE I would expect to be notified about this and just invite this user to the VRE. If the aim of this portlet is just to create new users into the portal it should be deployed on a different level

3) Is this step valid also for users who accepted the requests or do we expect to see there only the pending users?
"Go on the tab Already Created Users and push the button "Delete User". The user should be removed from the VRE and the table"

4) When the user accepts the invitation is he automatically added to the VRE? If yes, then check my second comment about the scope of this portlet.

Thank you for your comments, here my answers to you doubts:

1) In the first step I got an error with a non clear message, thus I don't know if this user already exists or if something else went wrong

I agree, the message is too generic, we must distinguish the cases (something wrong VS. user already present)

The portlet comes from a requirement of ICES, they need to create course participant accounts before and add them directly to the VRE (users accounts are created and users are automatically added to the VRE).

3) "Go on the tab Already Created Users and push the button "Delete User". The user should be removed from the VRE and the table"

We give the possibility to remove a user account if the participant changes his/her mind and does not to take part to the course. The possibility is given if and only if the user has not performed his first login, therefore he/she did not change the password yet

4) When the user accepts the invitation is he automatically added to the VRE?

This portlet is not about invitations. See comments in 2).
