Description

The following SDI components are required for the WECAFC-FIRMS
* GeoServer instance, version 2.10.0, with privileges access to geoserver data directory through sftp/ssh - DONE
* GeoNetwork instance, version 3.0.5, properly configureed for API operations (see similar requests in other VREs) - DONE
* JNDI Connector set-up for RDB pre-production and production databases - DONE
* a space under static-web.d4science.org reachable via sftp/ssh where we an deploy static web components

For the time being we will make these components only to administrators, for the sake of developments, and not to pollute VRE seen by users.

Please open a subtask for each action, if new instances of geonetwork and geoserver are required. And give them reasonable resource values if you can, I had to adjust the frenchtunaatlas geonetwork because it always exhausted the available memory.

I forgot to ask: would it be possible for you to configure a JNDI on the database for which i've requested connection params at #11217. I will use this JNDI connector for setting an optimized GeoServer datastore. Thanks for your support

#4 Updated by Andrea Dell'Amico over 1 year ago

No problem to configure a JNDI connector. I still need dedicated tasks for the VM, if the geo{network, server} you are requesting must be new instances.

#5 Updated by Emmanuel Blondel over 1 year ago

yes they should be new instances of Geoserver 2.10.0 / GeoNetwork 3.0.5

#6 Updated by Andrea Dell'Amico over 1 year ago

Please @roberto.cirillo@isti.cnr.it can you open the subtasks? @emmanuel.blondel@fao.org what resources do they need? The same assigned to french tunaatlas would be OK?

#7 Updated by Emmanuel Blondel over 1 year ago

Yes use the same properties as FrenchTunaAtlas. Thanks a lot

due to changes in a related task

@emmanuel.blondel@fao.org in French_TunaAtlas we have a GeoNetwork instance with version 3.0.4. Is it ok for you this version for the related WECAFC-FIRMS instance?

And same VM resources as FrenchTunaAtlas

@andrea.dellamico@isti.cnr.it can you indicate who should configure the JNDI? Thanks
We have 2 database (RDB pre-production & production) for which we need this set-up

I don't know if I understand you request. The JNDI connections are configured by the provisioning system. I only configured one, I missed the fact that you needed both. I don't think I have the credentials of the second one. @roberto.cirillo@isti.cnr.it ?
We are talking about the geoserver, anyway, correct? The geonetwork has its database here at CNR.

#17 Updated by Emmanuel Blondel over 1 year ago

I need both, because at now I have to follow the software policy which is to start in pre-prod, but pre-prod tests imply that I test JNDI. Yes we are talking of Geoserver only. I sent you the credentials in private message.

I've added the second resource. Their name is jdbc/dbprod and jdbc/dbpre.

Thanks Andrea, It's ok for pre-prod, I configured it in Geoserver and it works well. I trust that it will work well for prod, but I need to wait Postgis is installed in it (@dkatris@di.uoa.gr / @k.kakaletris@cite.gr can you already proceed with that?)

@andrea.dellamico@isti.cnr.it For the SDI, everything is working well (Postgis-JNDI/Geoserver/Geonetwork).
For finalizing this ticket:
* can we have a space under static-web.d4science.org reachable via sftp/ssh where we an deploy static web components. Some directory like "data-viewer" so we can deploy ASAP our web-app at https://wecafc-firms.d4science.org/data-viewer
* can we apply we have similar short DNS logic as in Tuna atlas to homogenize URLs. https://wecafc-firms.d4science.org/geoserver, https://wecafc-firms.d4science.org/geonetwork
* can we have SSL certificates for the resources? On that i remember that you don't control when we can get, but if you could give us a rough indication when we can get it, this would be good (knowing that we will need them to plug the components in the VRE)

Thanks for your support

I created the space, accessible as user data-viewer with your ssh key.

https://wecafc-firms.d4science.org/geonetwork
https://wecafc-firms.d4science.org/geoserver
https://wecafc-firms.d4science.org/data-viewer

are all in place

Sorry, it will need several days. We have 3/4 certificate requests in the queue already, and I see that in the past days we renewed lot of certificates. 5/6 days at least, I fear.

Thanks @andrea.dellamico@isti.cnr.it for the set-up, and time indication for certificates. It's ok for us.

I'm closking this ticket as everything is now in place. Thanks to you and @roberto.cirillo@isti.cnr.it for your prompt supports.
